Erin M. Scharg, Stockton Workers’ Compensation Attorney
Erin applies her knowledge and passion for law to help individuals and families experiencing a crisis.
In 2013, Erin joined Stockton Workers’ Compensation Attorneys P.C., bringing an endless passion for justice and helping others. Since joining the firm, Erin has attained extensive courtroom experience, where she formed her specialties: Social Security Disability and Wage and Overtime Law.
Erin serves her clients by first being a principled listener. She believes the key to delivering expert representation is listening to all her client’s concerns. Through a diligent and thorough approach, she has been praised for achieving exceptional results for clients in plight–whether helping people get appropriately compensated for their work or obtaining social security disability benefits for her clients.
As an attorney, one of her greatest strengths is experience. Erin’s experience appearing before various tribunals have given her tremendous experience. Specifically, Erin has extensive background knowledge of how courts may rule on particular cases. Erin has appeared in nearly every county in California, in state, federal, and administrative courts. Erin has also successfully settled countless class-action lawsuits on behalf of workers who were denied overtime, meal breaks, and rest breaks in various jurisdictions throughout California, including the United States District Court.
Additionally, Erin is a member of the Sacramento Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (“SOSSCR”). SOSSCR is a network of attorneys and other advocates representing individuals with disabilities. Their mission is to advocate for advancements in Social Security disability programs.
Erin didn’t take long to learn that she was passionate about law. When her dad fell ill with cancer and could not work, her family depended on social security disability benefits. Through her experiences, Erin understands that chronic illness is troublesome for the person with the disease and the entire family. Erin was aggrieved to see that sometimes individuals must put up a long fight to recover lost benefits, even if they have been paying taxes their whole life. Eventually, her father recovered from his original diagnosis, but Erin’s desire for justice became a passion.
Before attending law school, Erin worked for an insurance company, which provided her with valuable knowledge about handling claims. During law school, Erin spent two years as an active participant in the Health and Elder Law Clinic, which supplies legal assistance services to eligible seniors. Following law school, Erin practiced in workers’ compensation and eventually joined Stockton Workers’ Compensation Attorneys P.C., where she pursued results in the client’s best interests. “Some of my best days are when I tell my clients they have been approved for social security disability benefits,” she says.
Personal Life
Erin likes to spend her time outside law cooking with her husband and attending gymnastics classes with their one-year-old daughter when she’s not litigating cases. She also enjoys traveling and running.
